Office catering in Charlotte: what to expect

Charlotte's office demand is concentrated in the urban core. Cushman & Wakefield says third quarter 2026 leasing clustered in Uptown and Midtown/South End, and CBRE has metro vacancy at 22.0% after four straight quarters of positive absorption. The big employers here are banks and corporate headquarters. The city counts 19 Fortune 1000 companies, including Bank of America, Lowe's and Duke Energy, and Ingersoll Rand became the region's eighth Fortune 500 company this year. For the core, Chef Alyssa's Kitchen names Uptown and SouthPark in its delivery area, Yafo Kitchen has locations in SouthPark, Dilworth, Plaza Midwood and Ballantyne, and Mama Ricotta's and Plate Perfect share a kitchen on South Kings Drive. Out south, The Blue Taj sits in Ballantyne Village and Chef's Catering works out of Matthews.

Here's the honest part. None of these 14 caterers posts a per person price on its own website. What they do publish is terms. Chef Alyssa's needs 24 hours notice and only takes orders Monday through Friday. Catering by Cordre advertises 48 hour booking. Yafo asks for 24 hours through ezCater and appreciates 72 hours for full service through Plate Perfect. Something Classic has no minimum and will send one boxed lunch or five hundred. Chef's Catering sets $500 and $750 food and beverage minimums for Saturday and Sunday events. For ordering without a phone call, Chef's Catering, Something Classic, Cordre, Apple Spice, Chef Alyssa's, Mama Ricotta's and Taste of Heaven all take orders online. Plate Perfect, Field Pea, ROOTS and The Blue Taj start with a quote form.

A few Charlotte specifics before you order. Mecklenburg County charges a 1% prepared food and beverage tax, and a second 1% county sales tax took effect July 1, 2026. North Carolina also counts delivery charges as part of the taxable sale. Field Pea notes its menu prices leave out tax and an administration fee, and Chef Alyssa's will cap its delivery fee at $80 on orders over $700 if you ask. Delivery areas vary a lot: Chef Alyssa's covers a 17 mile radius, Chef's Catering about 50 miles from Matthews, and Yafo's ezCater orders only 5 miles from each store.
