This list is alphabetical, not ranked, and no caterer paid to be on it. We look for San Diego restaurants and catering companies that publish a real catering menu, handle drop-off or delivery for groups, and come up again and again when local offices talk about who they order from.
Pricing, minimums, lead times and delivery areas come from each caterer's own website and were last checked in October 2026. Of the 15 listed, 5 publish pricing and 2 state a lead time. San Diego's office demand has split by submarket. Cushman & Wakefield's Q3 2026 report puts Downtown direct vacancy at 28.3% while the suburbs sit at 11.3%, and Hughes Marino describes UTC, Kearny Mesa and Mission Valley at roughly 15% availability and in equilibrium, with Sorrento Mesa and Carlsbad well over 20%. So most of the ordering comes from the central and northern corridors. That is where these caterers sit. Caliente Mexican Food is in Sorrento Valley, Lorna's Italian Kitchen is in University City near UTC, MIHO is in Kearny Mesa, Rotisserie Affair and The Wild Thyme Company work out of Miramar, All Aspects is in Mira Mesa and Surfside Fish House is in Scripps Ranch. Coconut Girl Kitchen lists Sorrento Valley, Torrey Pines, Mission Valley and Downtown among the areas it delivers to, and Pronto covers La Jolla through Del Mar and Encinitas.
Five of these fifteen caterers publish real prices. Salud Catering is the clearest: $12 per person for pickup with a 10 person minimum, $14 for delivery at 15 people, $17 for a staffed buffet at 30, and taco carts at $19 to $22. Coconut Girl Kitchen lists drop-off trays at $60 to $85 per medium tray and full service at $45 to $55 per person. All Aspects prices boxed lunches at $800 to $1,000 for up to 40 people, then $12.99 to $20.99 per extra person. Terra starts buffets at $28 per person, food only. The Wild Thyme Company's Thyme To Go drop-off menu has a $100 minimum and needs 72 hours. For ordering without a call, Wild Thyme, Lorna's and Surfside take orders online and Coconut Girl uses ezCater. MIHO, Continental, Terra, Rotisserie Affair, All Aspects, Pronto and Salud all work from quote forms.
A few local details change the bill. California taxes mandatory service charges and gratuities as part of the sale, and the City of San Diego rate is 7.75%, so Salud's 10% service charge plus 15% gratuity on delivery orders and Wild Thyme's 22% production fee on staffed events are taxed too. Salud works within a 25 mile radius of National City and adds travel fees beyond it, and Coconut Girl charges a small delivery fee by location. Rotisserie Affair and Abbey are staffed-event houses, with Rotisserie Affair serving 30 to 3,000 guests and Abbey quoting groups of 50 to 500, so neither is a drop-off lunch option. Bekker's Catering blocked our verification with a bot check, so call them directly. The convention center ran 92 events in fiscal 2025, and Comic-Con brings more than 135,000 people Downtown each July, so book early that week.
